Wednesday 21st October 2020 – Winners of the 2020 TIARA Recruitment Awards were revealed in a virtual ceremony attended by 200 leaders from the UK’s top performing Recruitment companies.

“Covid-19 has moved organisations and the world from ‘business as usual’ to transformation”, said David Head, Director of TALiNT Partners. “This year’s pandemic-defying TIARA winners have seen the best return on investment in technology, training and talent to achieve growth.”

The 40 UK recruiters shortlisted in 16 award categories for the 2020 TIARAs have a combined turnover of £8.99 billion, NFI of £1.4 billion, and 26,444 employees.

“All of our TIARA Recruitment Awards finalists are an inspiration to the industry for their drive for excellence before the pandemic and their resilience through lockdown,” said Alex Evans, Programme Director of TALiNT Partners. “This year’s winners are doubly impressive – not only demonstrating excellence in their client and candidate service but helping to transform the recruitment sector and the way it is valued by employers.”

Recently merged NES Fircroft won a trio of honours, matching its tally in 2019, winning the Clearwater Growth Recruitment Company of the Year, the 6CATS International Recruitment Company of the Year, and the Grant Thornton Specialist Recruitment Company of the Year.

New winners included NHS Professionals, which took the Innovation Award for its Rapid Response campaign to bring 20,000 healthcare professionals back into frontline care as the COVID 19 crisis hit.

Big individual winners included Raj Tulsiani, CEO of Green Park, who was crowned Mishcon de Reya Recruitment Leader of the Year for galvanising his team around D&I led purpose. Peter Searle, former CEO and chairman of Airswift, was honoured with the Saffery Champness Hall of Fame Award for an impressive career and mentorship of some of the industry’s most successful CEOs.

The new Access Group Tech Transformation Award was won by Cpl for how quickly and effectively it developed MyCpl to support the HSE at a crucial time.

“Access Group is delighted to support the TIARA campaign to celebrate the achievements of the UK’s leading recruitment companies,” said Jason Martin, Head of Strategy at Access Group. “It was a pleasure to judge finalists for the new Tech Transformation Award to see the innovative ways recruiters are using technology to enhance candidate experience and client service while empowering consultants to gain competitive advantage.”

A diverse panel of judges combining industry chairmen, corporate HR leaders and leading advisers was once again chaired by Ian Nash, Chairman of Hudson. New additions to the judging panel this year included Gary Elden OBE, former CEO of SThree and Prof Emma Parry, Head of Changing World of Work at Cranfield School of Management.

“It’s important to recognise the recruiters who are investing in talent, technology and culture to achieve great things for their business and for their industry,” said Ian Nash. “The pandemic has provided the ultimate test for the recruitment sector and this year’s finalists were best prepared to weather the storm because of how they have invested in transformation.”

The TIARA 2020 Recruitment Awards campaign was once again supported by headline partner Access Group and sponsors 6CATS International, Clearwater International, Fore:Two Group, Gambit Corporate Finance, Grant Thornton, Mishcon de Reya, Parasol Group, Saffery Champness and SourceBreaker.
